Are you doing o.k.? Yeah? Me, neither.
We just went through almost 6 to 8 months of the craziest, Twilight Zone inspired political campaigning I think anyone alive has ever seen.
Then we started up our annual, 3 months of decorating, shopping, redecorating, dressing up, partying, socializing, wrapping, eating and generally just consuming all the treats, holiday season.
In the midst of all that, we had an election.
Then we hit post holiday blues…
…with a splash or two of bad weather…over the ENTIRE country.
It’s now time for self care. Don’t ignore your feelings. Acknowledge them, give them their time and then try to replace them. Try to start thinking positively. Smile at a stranger and force the corners of your mouth up. Start off tomorrow with a 10-15 min brisk walk. If you journal, get your feelings on paper. If you draw, draw something you love. If you love tea, make a cuppa. Do something fun, positive and healthy and start getting in a better mind frame.
Lot’s of people are upset. If you are, it’s o.k. but don’t let it define you and bring on a depression. If you’re happy, good. Now go spread that happiness in a constructive and positive way. If you’re not happy, fake it until you make it. If it’s too heavy, go see a professional about it.
Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you to get some exercise. Seriously, though, eat something healthy that makes you feel good and get some exercise. And, now that the holiday season is over, get some rest. You can’t fix things around you if YOU are in disrepair. Keep working on you. It’s all gonna be o.k.
